County, City to Change Salaries

Monroe County’s three commissioners will each get paid the same amount next year, a salary of $35,257. Currently, the president of the Monroe County Board of Commissioners receives about $700 more annually than the other two commissioners. Tax Increase Under Consideration To Combat Overcrowded Monroe County Jails

The Indiana Sheriff’s Association proposed a tax rate increase to ease overcrowding of low-level felons in County Jails, last week.
