The Indiana University Media School is developing an investigative journalism center.

In a press release today, Indiana University announced a $6 million gift to the media school by a graduate. The investigative center is expected to open next Fall, according to Dean Jim Shanahan.

Indiana University alumnus Michael Arnot graduated with a degree in journalism and worked at the Elkhart Truth newspaper before shifting careers to physical therapy. Shanahan says he’s been working with Arnot’s to develop the center.

Shanahan said the Indiana University Media School will begin a nation-wide search for the investigative center’s director. Other job openings will also be announced as the investigative center opens.
