The preliminarily adopted Terrestrial Invasive Plants Rule is moving toward final adoption by the State of Indiana. One step in the approval process is the public comment period, which culminates in a public hearing on Wednesday, December 19th. WFHB Assistant News Director Sarah Vaughan reports.

Standing Room Only – Coal to Diesel in Dale

The community of Dale, Indiana, spoke up at an Indiana Department of Environmental Management hearing, last week. Spencer County community members voiced their concerns over a proposed coal-to-diesel plant by Riverview Energy.  The plant, if permitted, would be built outside of the small farming town of Dale.  Our thanks to WFHB Contributor Mia Beach, for gathering audio from the IDEM meeting.

City Sells Bonds to Fund Parks Initiative

The city of Bloomington is selling bonds to raise money for Mayor John Hamilton’s Parks initiative. The major infrastructure project, which is estimated to cost around $10 million, would include extending the B-line bicycle and commuter pathway to the city’s east side. County Council Seeks Public Input on Hoosier National Logging

The Monroe County Council has requested more time for public comment on a logging and controlled burn project planned for the Hoosier National Forest. The project spans parts of Jackson and Lawrence Counties, and could impact water quality at Lake Monroe.
