abandoned spaces. It includes five oil paintings that use a variety of techniques to describe our collective cultural past. Her work looks at nostalgia and how these forgotten places become sacred and beautiful. The work preserves these spaces and
shows how they are time capsules from a not so distant past. related artworks and content, check out her art website and Instagram profile. There you can see past works related to this series.

Homegrown Hip: Parker Brothers Trio – B’Town Jazz

Last month’s Monika Herzig and Peter Kienle performance was awesome (view it on YouTube or the website if you missed it), and today, we are excited to announce the next great band in our series… the Parker Brothers Trio!
Chris, on drums, and Jeff, on trumpet and trombone, will be joined by DePauw University Professor of Jazz Studies, Steve Snyder, playing the organ.

Chris and Jeff Parker, are truly homegrown (and hip!) –  both are Bloomington, IN  natives introduced to jazz at Bloomington High School North. Chris recently spent two years away from Bloomington living in New York City, but is thrilled to be back performing with his favorite musical collaborator!  (Chris also serves on the B’Town Jazz Board and is in charge of producing and editing Homegrown Hip videos. So glad he could slip in a performance, as well.)

These two amazing and versatile musicians are currently students together in the Jazz Studies Department at the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music and perform with the Brent Wallarab Jazz Ensemble. Retired BHSN band teacher, Janis Stockhouse will talk with Chris and Jeff to find out what’s been going on!

“Always fresh. Locally sourced. Good for the mind and soul.”
