Drop in, adventure through fantastic realms, then leave whenever you have to. These sessions of Dungeons and Dragons are held via Discord and are designed to be short, fun, and evolving adventures that anyone can play. All skill levels are welcome! Ages 13–19. SHANNON GIBNEY is an award-winning author of books of all kinds — from novels to anthologies to essays to picture books. She writes for adults, children, and everyone in-between. The through-line in all her work is stories that may have previously gone untold. A native of Louisville, ELLEN BIRKETT MORRIS is the author of LOST GIRLS, a short story collection, and SURRENDER, a poetry chapbook. She holds a Master of Fine Arts in Fiction from Queens University – Charlotte. JENNIFER MOORE was born and raised in Seattle. She is the author of “Easy Does It” (2021) and “The Veronica Maneuver” (2015), both from the University of Akron Press, and a chapbook of centos, “Smaller Ghosts” (Seven Kitchens Press, 2020). Her poems have appeared in Crazyhorse, Bennington Review, Interim, The Cincinnati Review, and elsewhere. African American Dance Company Spring 2021 Virtual Auditions – African American Arts Institute, Bloomington, IN

Attend virtual auditions to be considered for the IU African American Dance Company in Spring 2021.

Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at 7:45–9:45 p.m. EST on Zoom

Audition Requirements: You must register online before participating in the virtual, live auditions. Click here to complete the registration form.

How to Prepare: You must watch a video and learn choreography prepared by Baba Stafford Berry, AADC Director. You must learn this phrase before arriving to the live audition on Zoom on January 19 at 7:45 p.m. You will receive both the video to learn the choreography and the Zoom link via email after completing the registration form.

Wear comfortable, non-restrictive clothing. To the best of your ability, find a space to participate in the audition that has minimal obstructions. Optimal available space to dance in would be at least 8 ft. x 8 ft.

As sunset approaches, join us to scan the shoreline and sky for bald eagles and other birds! We’ll have multiple spotting scopes set up and binoculars available, as well as hot cocoa to help keep you warm (bring your own travel mug). Free, but each session is limited to 12 people. Registration closes 3 days prior to the session date.
