Indiana University’s legendary African American Dance Company presents their annual Student Showcase, directed by Stafford C. Berry Jr. (Baba Stafford), and featuring choreographic and embodied research video projects from students enrolled in courses AAADS A-338 and AAADS A-100, respectively.
Join us virtually from the safety of you home, on December 10, 2020, at 7:30 p.m. E.S.T. for the world premiere of four unique choreographic works; 1 student restaged work; and 1 revisited work from Baba Stafford.
Since its birth in 1974, the African American Dance Company (AADC) has shared movement traditions and diverse Black diasporic dance forms. Directed by Stafford C. Berry Jr, AADC’s current repertoire includes traditional-based and contemporary African dance, African American jazz, hip-hop, and contemporary and popular forms.
The AADC is one of three student performing ensembles in the African American Arts Institute and a credit-bearing course offered through IU’s Department of African American and African Diaspora Studies.
