The Monroe County Commissioners have approved the final draft of the 2018 Monroe County Master Thoroughfare Plan. Public Works Director Lisa Ridge presented the planning document in the commissioners’ December 12 meeting. Monroe County adopted its first Master Thoroughfare Plan in 1995. The city of Bloomington is looking to consultants to help decide whether to rebuild or repair the aging, downtown Fourth Street garage. The Bloomington Redevelopment Commission last night approved contracting with CORE Planning Strategies to examine the question. This morning, Monroe County Commissioners approved an agreement to transfer 14 acres of the county’s Thomson property to Habitat for Humanity of Monroe County.
