State Reports Rise in Abortion Rates

The Indiana State Department of Health recorded a net increase in the number of abortion procedures carried out in the state. ISDH has yet to release their 2017 Induced Terminated Pregnancies Report to the general public. Indiana University alumni elected Donna Spears to the IU Board of Trustees. Election results were announced over the weekend. Spears received over 4 thousand votes out of nearly 14 thousand. Immigration Protests Planned for Saturday

Nation-wide protests are scheduled for Saturday, over the detention of illegal immigrants at the U.S.-Mexico border. In Bloomington, protesters will gather at 10:30 a.m. at the Monroe County Courthouse. Immigration advocate Gracia Valliant is scheduled to speak about the detentions. Valliant said, while the detention policy is not new, the sheer number of detentions are unprecedented.
