Two City Council Seats Determined Tuesday

Elections for Bloomington’s City Council are taking place tomorrow. Only eligible voters in Bloomington’s Districts 2 and 3 are voting . Candidates for other positions are running uncontested.

Competing for District 2 are Sue Sgambelluri (Democrat) and Andrew Guenther (Republican). District 2 covers portions of northwest Bloomington.

Running for District 3 are Ron Smith (Democrat), Nick Kappas (Independent) and Marty Spechler (Independent). District 3 covers portions of Bloomington’s northeast and east sides.

The City Council is the legislative body of the city. It has nine council members.One member for each district in Bloomington and three members represent the city at large.
