City Council Approves $2.5 Million Tax Break for Catalent

Last night, the Bloomington Common Council approved a $2.5 million tax break for local bio tech company, Catalent. $5.2 Mil Upgrades Approved for Edgewood HS, Intermediate, Primary

Two major construction projects are now officially underway to expand the Richland Bean Blossom community school facilities. One project will create a connector between Edgewood Primary and Edgewood Intermediate schools. A second project will add locker rooms and concessions at Edgewood High School. $10 million worth of parks, trails and tree planting projects are officially a go. The Bloomington Board of Park Commissioners gave their final, confirmatory approval last Thursday. City Council Addressing $10 Mil Parks Project, $30 Mil Parking Garages

The Bloomington City Council will take up two, multi-million dollar bonding initiatives tonight. A ten million dollar bond would fund parks projects. City Passes Property Tax Increase for Sidewalks

The City Council voiced support last night for a property tax increase to fund sidewalk repairs. City Controller Jeff Underwood presented a proposal re-establishing a cumulative capital development fund, along with the property tax increase. The fund is primarily supported by property taxes.
