Hosts Clarence Boone and Roberta Radovich examine the issue of school choice, which is explored in the documentary, Indiana’s Choice. The film was produced by the Indiana Coalition for Public Education-Monroe County (ICPE–Monroe County) which is a non-partisan group of parents, grandparents, teachers, and community members that believe in a well-funded equitable public education system. To discuss the issues tackled in Indiana’s Choice are three community advocates for more equitable educational access:

  • Dontonia Batts, a diversity, equity, and inclusion practitioner, who is also a consultant, advocate, educator principal consultant for Scriptura Strategies;
  • Dr. Phillip Harris, a lifelong educator with teaching experience at the elementary and university level. He and his wife Joan Harris published a book, titled The Myths of Standardized Tests. He is currently the Executive Director of the Association for Educational Communications & Technology, a professional association of scholars and researchers
    dedicated to using technology to improve learning;
  • Steve Hinnefeld, a newspaper reporter, media relations professional, and a journalism teacher. He writes School Matters, a blog about education in Indiana; and
  • Jenny Robinson, a Hoosier transplant who was drawn into education advocacy after Indiana’s school funding cuts of 2009. She is the Vice Chair for the  Indiana Coalition for Public Education–Monroe County (ICPE–Monroe County).  She has campaigned for 2010 and 2016 reform referendums for the Monroe County Community School Corporation (MCCSC).
