The City of Bloomington continues to battle the emerald ash borer, an Asian beetle that feeds on ash trees. Last week, the Board of Park Commissioners approved an $11,000 contract with Ellington Tree Service to remove thirteen infested trees. Standing Room Only – Coal to Diesel in Dale

The community of Dale, Indiana, spoke up at an Indiana Department of Environmental Management hearing, last week. Spencer County community members voiced their concerns over a proposed coal-to-diesel plant by Riverview Energy.  The plant, if permitted, would be built outside of the small farming town of Dale.  Our thanks to WFHB Contributor Mia Beach, for gathering audio from the IDEM meeting.
