A new report, by the Monroe County chapter of the NAACP and the Unitarian Universalist Church of Bloomington’s Racial Justice Task Force, says blacks in Monroe County are disproportionately affected by the Criminal Justice system; Last month’s midterm elections saw the highest voter turnout in a non-presidential election, in over 20 years; The Bloomington City Council has again postponed funding approval for two new parking garages in Bloomington’s downtown; Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced his top priorities for the 2019 session of the state’s legislature.

Monroe County Commission President Amanda Barge has formed an exploratory committee to consider a run for Bloomington Mayor. Barge is currently taking meetings with area residents on a listening tour of Bloomington.
