Budget Bill Increases Department of Child Services Funding

The Indiana State Senate approved a nearly $34.5 billion state budget, today. Indiana works on a biennial budget, meaning every two years the state legislature votes on allocating billions of dollars to the state’s general fund. MCCSC Superintendent Disputes Teacher Pay Claims

Monroe County Community Schools Superintendent Judi DeMuth is taking issue with discrepancies in MCCSC teacher compensation data distributed recently by Indiana State Representative Peggy Mayfield. In last night’s MCCSC school board meeting, DeMuth provided an excerpt from a handout she said Mayfield distributed at a recent education presentation. Community Kitchen, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, HH Food Bank Among Grant Recipients

The City of Bloomington plans to distribute $800,000 in Community Development Block Grant funds, this year.  The Community Kitchen, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard, and Hoosier Hills Food Bank are to receive $25,000 dollars each, for emergency needs; Monroe County United Ministries and the Boys & Girls Clubs of Bloomington are in line to receive non-emergency funds.  The city annually receives Community Development Block Grant …

Proposed Budget Fully Funds DCS
