City Considering 4th Street Garage Replacement

A recent report from structural engineers is prompting Bloomington officials to consider rebuilding the Fourth Street garage. Bloomington’s Public Works Director Adam Wason told the Board of Public Works on Tuesday,the garage is over 30 years old, but was expected to have a 50-year lifespan.

The completion date for Interstate 69 has been pushed back due to recent rains. Monroe County Public Works Director Lisa Ridge gave the news in this morning’s County Commissioners’ meeting. Monroe County terminated an agreement with the city of Bloomington yesterday, over the proposed Convention Center expansion. Monroe County Commissioners were incensed over Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton’s communication with a potential developer.
