Walking Trail at RCA Park to Receive Reconstruction

The city of Bloomington is planning to rehabilitate the trail at RCA Park. The Board of Park Commissioners approved contracting with Scenic Construction Services to demolish existing boardwalks and remove some trees to reconstruct the trail. ‘Loanshark’ Lending Bill to be Heard in Committee

The Indiana House Committee on Financial Institutions will consider a bill tomorrow, allowing for higher interest rates on payday loans. Senate Bill 613 would raise rates to levels that are currently considered felony loansharking. The Indiana State Senate narrowly passed SB 613, last month. Monroe County Commissioner Amanda Barge announced she will resign, this afternoon. Barge is accused of sexual harassment by former independent Monroe County contractor, Brandon Drake. The County Commissioner previously suspended her campaign for Bloomington Mayor. Law Passes To Tackle Synthetic Drug Crisis in Indiana

Two years ago, 25 overdoses were reported in downtown Bloomington caused not by heroin nor prescription pills. The cause of the overdoses was synthetic marijuana called Spice, or K2.
