City Council Wrangling Over Hospital Purchase

In its meeting last night, the Bloomington City Council again took up an agreement between the city and IU Health to buy the IU health hospital site on Second Street. The city does not yet have specific redevelopment plans for the site. City Council Considering Hospital Site Plans

The Bloomington City Council reviewed and voiced unanimous approval for a purchase agreement for the IU Hospital site on Second Street. The city’s corporation counsel, Phillipa Guthrie, said the city has already signed a letter of intent to buy the 24 acre site from IU Health for six and a half million dollars.

Mayor Announces Deal for Bloomington Hospital Property

On Wednesday morning, Bloomington Mayor John Hamilton announced to a room of reporters, politicians and residents that the city will buy 24 acres of the current Bloomington Hospital at a discounted rate.
