It’s been over a month since the eviction of Bloomington’s Occupy movement from People’s Park. After four months of maintaining a camp in solidarity with the national Occupy Wall Street Movement, Bloomington’s group now focuses on periodic teach-ins and small demonstrations. Social Movement researcher Fabio Rojas, professor of Sociology at Indiana University, contrasts the Occupy movement with the conservative social group the Tea Party, characterizing the difference as an issue of acceptance within the Republican and Democratic parties, respectively.
Correspondent Wes Martin spoke today with Rojas about the future of the Occupy movement and the Tea Party Express for today’s feature, for this WFHB feature exclusive.
