Jonah Chester

Jonah Chester says he had an “Oh, shit!” moment when, as a senior at the Indiana University Media School, he realized he should be job searching but had no practical experience. This led him to intern for two semesters at WFHB, where he developed a skill set he now uses producing podcasts for California based Mission Studios. Chester talked with WFHB correspondent Sarah Vaughan about his internship, the value of community reporting, and his proudest moment as a WFHB correspondent.

Casey Kuhn

Casey Kuhn is an associate producer for PBS NewsHour West, and a former correspondent with NPR affiliate KJZZ in Arizona. Kuhn credits WFHB for giving her the building blocks for the career she has today. In talking with WFHB correspondent Sarah Vaughan, Kuhn reveals her biggest hurdle as an intern was getting over her fear of the cold call.

 Araceli Gomez Aldana

Araceli Gomez Aldana has reported for WBOI and Side Effects Public Media in Indiana, and now works at Chicago’s NPR affiliate, WBEZ. She first came to Community Radio WFHB through a community reporting class she took as a journalism major at Indiana University. She went on to report for and anchor WFHB’s Daily Local News, and produce Voices in the Street and Hola Bloomington.  Gomez Aldana talked with WFHB correspondent Sarah Vaughan about what she learned in those roles, and why she thinks community reporting is important.

Sarah Hetrick

Sarah Hetrick is a Digital Media Coordinator at CNN, in Atlanta. During her time at WFHB, she engineered live shows, edited audio and posted content to the WFHB webpage. As Hetrick tells WFHB correspondent Sarah Vaughan, she uses skills she developed at WFHB everyday in her current job.
