The Second Annual South Central Indiana Opioid Summit begins Tuesday.

The two-day summit features a legislative panel, presentations by organizations involved in combating the opioid epidemic, as well as networking, and project planning sessions.

Monroe County Commissioner and co-founder of the South Central Indiana Opioid Summit, Amanda Barge said this year the summit is focusing on harm reduction.

The two day summit begins tomorrow. The Monroe County Courthouse Square in downtown Bloomington will be lit in Purple light tonight.

Tonight’s Prince-themed party is being hosted by Monroe County Government, in partnership with the Indiana Center for Recovery, Centerstone, the Bloomington Chamber of Commerce, Bridges of Hope, the Indiana Recovery Alliance, Sober Joe Coffee and Courage to Change.

Barge said tomorrow and Wednesday’s summit events are completely booked, but the summit will be available to view on Community Access Television Services.

The Second Annual South Central Indiana Opioid Summit takes place Tuesday and Wednesday, at the Monroe County Convention Center, in downtown Bloomington. The summit lasts from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. both days.
