Play

Welcome to the 59th episode Hearabouts: Asian American Midwest Radio. Hearabouts is produced by Indiana University’s Asian Culture Center in collaboration with WFHB. We ask critical questions about identity, culture, community and shared assumptions. This episode is produced by Andrew Pace and Melanie Castillo-Cullather. Our sound engineer is Michael Sears.

During Women’s History Month, we will feature the voices of AAPI women warriors of Indiana. On this episode, we will hear from leaders of the Indiana chapter of the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum (NAPAWF), Katherin Chi of Indianapolis, and Michelle Waugh Dahl of Franklin, Indiana.
In part 2 of this series, airing on the March 23, young Pacific Islander activists, Dana Taborn and Leilanu Jackson of IU’s Pacific Islander Student Association will be on the show. Our guests will talk about what Women’s History Month means to them, the challenges, and the fulfillment that their advocacy work brings and the important issues facing AAPI women today.
