Play

Hosts Clarence Boone and Liz Mitchell put a spotlight on the start of Women’s History Month by starting off with a discussion of the theatrical project – “Elizabeth – A Woman of Color”, which is produced by Resilience Productions.  Members of the Resilience Productions team, Danielle Bruce, Gladys DeVane and, our show’s co-host, Liz Mitchell provide a post-analysis of “Elizabeth – A Woman of Color” in the first half-hour of the show, which was originally performed on February 24.

Another performance of “Elizabeth – A Woman of Color” will be performed at the Unitarian Universalist Church on March 20 at 7 PM, which is located at 2120 N Fee Lane, Bloomington, IN 47408.

During the second half of the program, Vernon Williams, educator, author, playwright, journalist, and founder of an Indianapolis-based not-for-profit children’s literacy initiative called Word of Mouth, Inc., explores an initiative at IUPUI to support and showcase the “OnyxFest”, established in 2011 as a vehicle to promote and expose avid theatergoers to the voices and talent of new and emerging African American playwrights.

The OnyxFest will take place from May 23, 24 and May 29, 30, 31 at Indy Eleven and IndyFringe Basile Theatres.
