Part One:
Hosts Clarence Boone and Roberta Radovich speak with Dr. Virginia Githiri, who is a professor at IU’s School of Public Health in Bloomington, IN. She is also a professional vocalist, having more than 20 years of experience, a motivational speaker, and also an entrepreneur. Today she visits Bring It On! to discuss how she directs her passions into her entrepreneurial pursuits.

She has taken her love of popcorn to the next level by opening up in October 2016 PopKorn Kernels with a Twist, a gourmet popcorn purveyor. By mid-January of 2017 PopKorn had gained a bit of a following and Bloomington residents were becoming eager to get their hands on this delectable treat. In order to provide local customers and visitors with access to the full range of PopKorn flavors and sizes, Dr. G. opened the PopKorn store at 221 E. Kirkwood Ave in March of 2017.

Part Two:
Bring It On! is also pleased to announce that Dr. Charlie Nelms, Vice President Emeritus of Indiana University and Chancellor Emeritus of North Carolina Central University, will discuss his recently published book, From Cotton Fields to University Leadership: All Eyes on Charlie, A Memoir, on June 11, 2019 at 7:00 PM at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, located at 100 State Rd 46, Bloomington, IN 47408. All proceeds from the sale of the book will be donated to historically black colleges and universities for scholarships to low income students. The event is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.
