Today’s broadcast originally aired on December 17, 2018. This broadcast looks back at the status of Latinx immigrants and President Donald Trump’s threats of “shutting down the government” due to his defiant stance over the construction of the border wall. Nearly a year later, this rebroadcast reminds us of what has and has not changed regarding this issue.

Hosts Jim and Amrita Myers, Ph.D., are joined by Texas A&M Associate Professor of History Felipe Hinojosa, who speaks about the border and Latinx issues. This broadcast is dedicated to the plight and common misunderstandings of undocumented Latinx immigrants.

Jim Sims is the at-large representative on the Bloomington, IN city council.

Amrita Myers, Ph.D., is the Ruth N. Halls Associate Professor in the  Departments of History and Gender Studies at Indiana University – Bloomington.
