As Indiana Attorney General Curtis Hill continues his public attacks on needle exchange programs, The Indiana Recovery Alliance celebrates reversing over 2000 overdoses. Hill released a statement following an overdose death in Richmond, Indiana, in which a needle from a needle exchange was used. In his statement, the Attorney General wrote “While we should always work to mitigate risks of contracting contagious diseases, we must focus greater attention on helping these individuals overcome the root problems of substance abuse and addiction”. Hill has repeatedly come out against allowing needle exchanges to operate in the state.
