Dimension Mill Executive Director Pat East said the renovation of the former furniture factory into a co-work and tech incubator space is on track. East said he expects the property will be open for business by October 31st.

East gave an update on the Dimension Mill property and nonprofit to the Bloomington Redevelopment Commission on Monday night. He began by emphasizing the importance of cultivating talent.

East outlined several initiatives the nonprofit Dimension Mill has implemented to recruit or develop a talent over a variety of areas. The Hannapin Marketing founder said he was able to duplicate a successful talent development program from his own business.

East said fundraising is another crucial component to the nonprofit Dimension Mill’s success. East said he expects the organization will operate at a loss of about 500 thousand dollars in its first three years. He’s looking to fundraise, in order to fill that gap.

The Dimension Mill nonprofit is already holding monthly networking and educational events. East said the events are primarily marketed to other tech companies and co-working spaces, but the general public is also welcome.
