Today is the first day of early voting in Indiana.

Polls opened at 8 a.m. this morning in Monroe County and will stay open until 6 p.m. Monroe County Elections Supervisor Karen Wheeler said today’s first day of early voting has seen a higher than usual number of voters.

Yesterday marked the end of voter registration in several states, including Indiana. But voters can still check their polling places, and see which candidates are on their ballots, by visiting the state’s voter website: Indianavoter.com.

Early voting in Monroe County takes place from Monday to Friday at Monroe County Election Central at 401 West 7th Street, in Downtown Bloomington. Monroe County Election Central’s offices are open from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Early voters can also cast their ballots on Saturday, October 27 and Saturday, November 3rd from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
A full schedule is on Monroe County’s elections website: Monroecountyvoters.us.
