Local activist group Citizens for Appropriate Rural Roads will have to wait longer than expected to get their day in court. This summer CARR sued the state of Indiana in federal court over the development of Interstate Highway 69 through Monroe County. The date for that trial has not been set, but CARR has also asked for an injunction – halting all construction on the highway until the trial is over. The injuction hearing – originally scheduled for yesterday in U.S. Federal Court in Indianapolis has been delayed a week. Correspondent Alycin Bektesh speaks with Tom Tokarski of CARR, about the lawsuit, and the delay in the legal proceedings for this WFHB feature exclusive.
