CASA to Begin Advocate Training

Monroe County CASA begins its fall advocate training on October 18th.
CASA is short for court appointed special advocates. CASAs advocate in the courts on behalf of juveniles who have been subjected to abuse or neglect.

Jim Shelton is a member of the Monroe County CASA’s Board of Trustees. He announced the training to the County Commissioners this morning.

The organization also holds regular Coffee with CASA sessions. These allow potential volunteers to learn more about the organization through face-to -face conversation with CASA staff.

Applications can be found online at Monroecountycasa.org. The application deadline is October 8th. The CASA training begins the 18th.
