The 2019 National Solar Tour kicks off this weekend. Local residents are participating in this national tour, opening their homes to show how solar power works, and make themselves available to answer questions. To learn about solar open house events in our area, go to nationalsolartour.org/map.

And, the City of Bloomington is launching its fourth Solarize Bloomington initiative. The project offers affordable solar installation to homeowners, businesses, and nonprofits through bulk buying solar panels, and securing installers. The City is encouraging area homeowners, businesses, and nonprofits to learn more about solar energy and the Soalarize Bloomington project through one of three public information sessions scheduled at the Monroe County Public Library on October 3rd, October 22nd, and November 14th. WFHB’s Sarah Vaughan learned more about the project from Lauren Travis, Assistant Director of Sustainability for the City of Bloomington.
