Raquel Anderson doesn’t know any other way to be. “Active and involved” was the model she witnessed in her own family while growing up in Puerto Rico. It came naturally to her then when she moved to Bloomington to find ways to be of help. The lucky recipients of her time, talents, and dedication are Middle Way House where she is a member of the crisis line team, Bloomington Animal Care and Control, in her role as a foster to animals in transition, and El Central Comunal Latino where she assists members of the local Spanish-speaking community using her language skills and knowledge of local resources. It is her sense of “compromiso” that keeps her committed to these organizations and causes. Raquel encourages all community members to share their time with the community in ways that will help them learn and expand in positive ways.
