Eliza Carey and ShaKay Norris are living examples of the power of supportive relationships. Carey and Norris are in the Thriving Connections project at South Central Community Action Program. Thriving Connections pairs low-income households with middle-class allies. Together they plot a course out of poverty and along the way something else tends to happen: meaningful friendships.
