What can You Do with Greensleeves: A Ground Bass Jam Session with Adam Gilbert
Thu May 23rd 12:30pm – 2:00pm
Monroe County History Center, 202 E 6th St, Bloomington, IN 47408, USA
Anyone can improvise over the four-chord progressions of the Romanesca pattern at the heart
of the famous Greensleeves melody. In less than one hour, Adam Gilbert will have you playing
or singing variations over Greensleeves in Renaissance and Baroque styles, from the simplest
four note melodies to florid scales, arppeggios, and fancy passages. It’s fun, exciting, and no
one has yet been injured in the process. Bring your instrument or voice to join in the slightly
scary but oh so exciting fun!
