Peace by Piece is a long-term documentary project that highlights activists who are involved in the process of reconciliation between Israelis and Palestinians. The screening will include excerpts from interviews with German, Israeli and Arab peace educators. The interviews were conducted in 2002, shortly after the collapse of the Israeli-Palestinian peace process, and the outbreak of the Second Intifada.

Following the screening of the clips, Patrick O’Meara, (IU Vice President Emeritus for International Affairs) will lead a discussion of the current prospects for peace.

Annette Klasing: the daughter of Nazi sympathizers in Germany engaged in peace education with people in countries affected by the German aggression.
San’a Abu Asbua: An Arab peace educator from Israel, who talks about her identity in Hebrew.
Abdel Salam Najar: The mayor of a Neve Shalom (Wahat al-Salam), a Jewish-Arab village, that the created a peace school.
Nava Sonnenschein: Director of the Peace School in Neve Shalom talks about its pedagogy.
Jamal Zahalka: Arab Israeli Member of Knesset about his aspirations for an Arab autonomous education system, and the prospects of peace.
