The American Film Institute calls Love Story one of the most romantic films of all time. A novel by the same title was written, based on the screenplay, to promote the film and both the film and the novel were popular successes. Love Story was nominated for seven Academy Awards, winning one for Best Music, Original Score. In addition, the film was nominated for seven Golden Globe Awards, winning five for Best Motion Picture – Drama, Best Director, Best Actress in a Drama, Best Screenplay, and Best Original Score. The movie’s line “Love means never having to say you’re sorry.” was #13 on the list of best movie quotes by the American Film Institute in 2005.
