Sammy Terry will perform tribute to Cowboy Bob at McCormick’s Creek SP, Nov. 19
Hoosier TV icon Sammy Terry will celebrate the life of another Indiana broadcast legend, Cowboy Bob, during performances at McCormick Creek State Park’s Canyon Inn on Nov. 19.
Cowboy Bob, whose real name was Bob Glaze, died this September at age 73.
Glaze hosted the children’s variety show “Chuckwagon Theater,” which later became “Cowboy Bob’s Corral,” from 1970 to 1989 on WTTV-4. Around the same time, Sammy Terry hosted “Nightmare Theater,” also on WTTV.
Sammy Terry will rise from his crypt to pay homage to Cowboy Bob alongside Bob’s wife, Captain Gail Glaze.
Sammy Terry will share vintage stories about Cowboy Bob and host a trivia game show. Cowboy Bob fans can look at memorabilia from the show, see Sourdough the Singing Biscuit and meet Cowboy Bob’s dog. They also can write memories and condolences on tribute posters to be given to Gail Glaze.
Sammy Terry and his spider, George, will host a meet and greet before and after the performances. Fans can get photos and autographs and win prizes.
The Sammy Terry stage shows will be at 3:30 and 7:30 p.m.
Fans also can enjoy a special Chuckwagon Dinner. Seating is available in the Canyon Inn at 5 and 6:15 p.m.
Tickets and dinner reservations are available by calling Canyon Inn at (812) 829-4881. Special room rates and combination packages are available for overnight guests.
