‘Amazing Grace’

Filmed over the course of two days in Los Angeles’ New Temple Missionary Baptist Church in 1972, Amazing Grace documents the recording of Aretha Franklin’s best-selling gospel album of the same name. Director Sydney Pollack’s footage has never been publicly screened until recently cleared for release by Franklin’s estate following her death last August. The films is a must-see for any fans of The Queen of Soul and offers an amazing portrait of an inspirational and impassioned artist in her prime.
