Native Plants and Seed Exchange

Expect milkweed, asters, obedient plant, ox-eye sunflower, cup plants, indian physic, coreopsis, aronia bushes, witch hazel, pecan trees, and more! All plants must be for trade; no sales permitted. Non-invasive cultivars are welcome, but invasive plants are prohibited. To ensure invasive species and pests are not inadvertently spread, please pot plants you bring in commercial potting soil.

Native plant species are ones that evolve naturally in a given region. Wildflowers, ferns, mosses, shrubs, and trees of our area have adapted to local environmental conditions over thousands of years and form a well-balanced ecosystem.
North American natives are disappearing at an alarming rate due to land development, expanding agriculture, and introduction of invasive species. In our own yards, we can help to sustain natives that provide a food and habitat for birds, butterflies, beneficial insects, and small wildlife.
This casual, come-and-go event is family-friendly. The park has a playground.
