Indiana Bicentenial torch relay and community celebration, Monroe County Courthouse 100 W. Kirkwood Ave., Bloomington, IN

Monroe County celebrates Indiana’s Bicentennial with a leg of the Torch Relay travelling through the county.

The torch relay was created to honor Hoosiers who have demonstrated exceptional publice service, achievement, acts of heroism and/or volunteer service to their neighborhood, community, region or state.

After you cheer on the torchbearers along the route, join in the celebration downtown on the Courthouse Lawn.  The Bicentennial Experience, a high-tech mobile museum that tells the story of Indiana’s natural wonders, legendary figures and far reaching impact will be onsite.

Plus exhibits celebrating arts in Indiana, limestone carvers and games.
