The triathlon for children ages 5-10 yrs. includes a 50-meter swim in Bryan Park Pool, 1.5-mile cycle and .5-mile run on the paved path around Bryan Park. Participants begin each event together so no one is left behind. Children must bring their own bikes, bathing suits, towels, and life jackets (if desired) for the event. Helmets are required for the bike portion. Refreshments and a snack are provided for triathletes after the event. There is an information session for athletes and parents at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, July 18 at Bryan Park Pool. A Bike Rodeo will take place from 8-9 a.m. to give kids a chance to learn the “rules of the road.” Helmets will be provided to anyone who does not have one.
