The African American Dance Company 19th Annual Dance Workshop exposes participants to dance from the perspectives of African American culture and the broader African Diaspora through master classes, panel discussions, and enlightening dialogue. The workshop will include dance classes exploring West Indian/Jamaican, Afro-Cuban traditional and popular, West African styles, Vogue, and Contemporary Modern dance.
No previous dance experience is required! (If taking a Vogue class, feel free to bring a heel, preferably with ankle support; no wedges/platforms.)
The workshop also includes three events FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:
Lecture demonstration with renowned Vogue artist Cesar Valentino on Thursday, March 2, at 7 p.m. in the NMBCC Grand Hall
Reception and Chat with the Artists on Friday, March 3, at 7 p.m. in NMBCC A201
Dance Showcase on Saturday, March 4, at 7 p.m. in NMBCC Grand Hall.
