Keith Klein Memorial Fund
Klein, a member of the MCCSC Board of Directors, was an active supporter of Kiwanis Club of Bloomington, especially its annual fundraising pancake breakfast. Kiwanis has partnered with Foundation of MCCS to present the 2023 Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast & Antique Auto Show. At the FMCCS website, one can find this post:
To honor Keith’s legacy a memorial fund has been created with the Foundation of Monroe County Community Schools. The fund will support journalism and broadcasting programs within the MCCSC. Keith especially loved the Batchelor TV program; he believed it empowered young students to learn video, editing, and writing skills to tell a story.
The pancake breakfast proceeds will be divided between this exact fund and Kiwanis Youth Programs.

The menu is: Pancakes, sausage, cookie, orange juice, milk, coffee and tea. In Keith Klein’s honor, Celebrity Servers will plate the breakfasts. They include Diane Daily of WGCL Radio; Monroe County Sheriff Reuben Marte, Don Griffin, Susan Sandberg and Kerry Thomson.
The Antique Auto Show features antique vehicles from the 30s and classic cars from the 40s to 60s. Participants include members of The Model A Restorers Club of Columbus/Indiana Region and the Hoosier Hills Model A Restorers Club. Attendees are encouraged to take pictures.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office will display a squad car and a Polaris UTV, depending upon availability, for children to touch and tour. A Sheriff’s deputy will be on hand to meet kids and answer questions and to give children 10 and under a free coloring book.
