Prosecutor Requests Sheriff Withhold Body Cam Footage After Shooting

The Monroe County Sheriff’s office will not release body camera footage from two officers who shot and killed a man, last week. Amid Push for Hate Crimes Law, Bias Crimes Law Falls Short

On Monday, Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb announced his support for hate crimes legislation in 2019. Indiana is one of five states that currently do not have hate crimes legislation. Changes to EPA Coal Ash Disposal Regs Could Mean a Dirtier Indiana

Earlier this month, The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) moved to loosen a 2015 regulation regarding coal ash disposal. According to the Associated Press, some of the rule changes would push back the deadline to close problematic ash dumps. Indiana Leads Growth in Economic Inequality

Indiana leads the Midwest in growing economic inequality. According to a new study from the Economic Policy Institute, the top 1% in Indiana owns 17.3 times the wealth of the rest of the state.
