For a $5 fee, small businesses and vintage/collectable sellers are invited to set up a tent/table and advertise their business or sell their wares! The purpose of Small Business Night is to inform the public about the goods and services provided by small businesses in our own community, and to encourage residents to “buy local”. Small Business displays will be set up in the grassy lot across Franklin Street from Bloomfield Manufacturing. Businesses can pay their fee to the market manager that evening. “…raw rockabilly sound, superbly crafted songs and high-energy live show!” – The Tennessean
ALL AGES!
The GIZMOS are Bloomington’s claim to punk rock fame. Gulcher records put out several EPs that are now appreciated as proto punk classics. The 2nd lineup of the band featured Dale Lawrence, who went on to play in the Vulgar Boatmen. The 2nd era GIZMOS released a split LP with a Lafayette punk band called DOW JONES & THE INDUSTRIALS, who incorporated electronic sounds into their aggressive punk songs. The LP is called “Hoosier Hysteria,” and that’s what this crazy reunion show is all about!
Recommended listening/on air suggestions …
1976 Gizmos “Human Garbage Disposal”
1979 Gizmos “Midwest Can Be All Right”
Dow Jones & the Industrials “Can’t Stand the Midwest”
