The Buskirk-Chumley Theater invites the community to a free event in celebration of its history on Wednesday, November 30th, 5:30-7pm. The evening’s activities will include a film screening, the grand re-opening of an expanded exhibit on the history of the building, and a brief presentation on a new initiative to honor Bloomington’s arts history.
The CAAG hosts the annual World AIDS Day Ceremony of Celebration and Remembrance on Wednesday, November 30th. Hors d’oeuvres reception and art silent auction at 5:30, program at 6:00. Ceremony includes; candlelight remembrance, presentation of the Celia Busch Making a Difference Award, and performances by Quarryland Men’s Chorus, and other local talent. Event is FREE and all are welcome.

Btown✭Kiz is Bloomington’s local Kizomba dance group. They seek to spread the love of Kizomba dancing by foster a community of dancers who are desiring to learn and have fun.
First Thursdays is a monthly series featuring extended evening hours on the first Thursday of every month, with activities for everyone. Our May First Thursday will be the last major event at the art museum before it closes for renovations.
The event features 30 juried artists in jewelry, fiber arts, painting, wood and more, plus a book sale, cafe, cookies and other goodies, and a white elephant room. Admission is free and the public is cordially invited.

On Thursday, December 8, 2016, Citizens’ Climate Lobby and Green Drinks Bloomington will host a celebration. CCL will be a focus of this week’s episode of the acclaimed National Geographic series “Years of Living Dangerously,” which has helped to bring national attention on climate change and the individuals and organizations working to alleviate it. CCL and Green Drinks Bloomington will host a public watch party for the program, to be held at the Banquet Facility at the Upland Brewing Company. The doors will open at 5:30 pm and the program begins at 6 pm.
Jazz pianist and SPEA faculty Monika Herzig will engage the audience through performance, historical tidbits, trivia questions, and sing-alongs with holiday spirit galore!
