We hope that everyone on campus gets a chance to come celebrate Native American Heritage Month with us and to learn a little bit more about what’s going on in Native North America.”

The first half of the dance 4 to 4:45 pm will be geared towards simple dances for all: mixers, circles, longways sets and a few play parties. These are some of the the wonderful dances we do every summer at CDSS Family Weeks at Pinewoods, Cumberland, and Timber Ridge camps. As staff and directors of these camps we see the impact that multi-generational dancing has on a community and we are excited to make that a permanent part of our Bloomington dance scene. The second half of the program 5 to 5:30 pm will be simple contra dances.
Just before the break we will have a couple of songs and some jokes, so come prepared.
Come for all or part of the afternoon, bring friends and we hope to see you there.
Let the healing and re-vitalizing vibrations of the gong shake the Trump out of you!

On Tuesday, November 29th, beginning at 5:30p.m., The Venue will host a presentation by Julie James, informing you of what you can and cannot lawfully do, and practically what you should and should not do, in raising and keeping healthy chickens, within the city limits of Bloomington.
The City Counsel of Bloomington pasted an ordinance allowing people to keep chickens in Bloomington, but how many, what sex, under what physical restrictions, under whose oversight and subject to whose approval? After Julie James has answered these questions, she will tell us what kind of chickens, what kind of equipment, what kind of a physical lay out, and what care will allow our chickens to prosper. And what exactly does chicken prosperity look like, anyway? How many eggs how often, and a lot more. Julie is an expert, and her presentation will be interactive and fun. When it comes to chickens, it is prudent to look before you leap.
