Artist Biography: Fans are blown away by the powerful and impressive vocals by singer, songwriter and guitarist Dave Adkins. He lives in Elkhorn City, Kentucky and began playing and singing when he was just eight years old. At 17, he began playing bluegrass music at Dollywood where he stayed two years. His musical background includes both country & rock and spans over twelve years.
In 2010, he returned to the genre that was his first love, Bluegrass and formed the group, Dave Adkins & Republik Steele. Dave’s impressive soulful vocals earned him a 2013 SPBGMA nomination as Male Vocalist of the Year in the Contemporary category. He is also an accomplished songwriter, contributing original songs to his albums including That’s Just The Way I Roll (Rural Rhythm), Nothing To Lose (Mountain Fever), Adkins & Loudermilk (Mountain Fever) and his upcomingn 2016 solo release also on the Mountain Fever label.
Adkins & Loudermilk received a 2015 IBMA Award Nomination for Emerging Artist of the Year. Dave Adkins is touring as part of Adkins & Loudermilk and also as the DAVE ADKINS BAND, along with select solo dates.

After reading, Dancing Deer and Foolish Hunter, by Elisa Kleven, children will be invited to “act out” the story they heard using the fantastic MGFR woods and creek as a stage! The Bloomfield Friday Farmer’s Market will feature “Small Business Night” and “Vintage Pop-Up Night” on Friday, September 9 from 4-7 pm. For a $5 fee, small businesses and vintage/collectable sellers are invited to set up a tent/table and advertise their business or sell their wares! The purpose of Small Business Night is to inform the public about the goods and services provided by small businesses in our own community, and to encourage residents to “buy local”. The Bloomfield market is held each Friday and is located on the corner of Spring and Franklin streets. Small Business displays will be set up in the grassy lot across Franklin Street from Bloomfield Manufacturing. Businesses can pay their fee to the market manager that evening.
