The Spencer Pride Festival is the largest event held on the Owen County Courthouse square. The purpose of the festival is to provide a place of celebration & educational opportunity within our rural community. Pride Festivals have a rich history within the movement of LGBTQ+ equality, & Spencer Pride is a unique example. Spencer Pride is 100% family-focused & welcomes individuals of all ages & backgrounds. Regardless of how you identify, you are welcome at Spencer Pride for a full-day of free, family fun!
Free HIV testing will be available from 2-4 PM as will many other services throughout the day. HIV testing is provided by Positive Link (a program of IU Health Bloomington).
The festival is pet-friendly and dogs with responsible owners are welcome. In fact, this will be the third year that our event will feature a Pet Pride Parade presented by Elanco, with those furry members of our families participating to help us raise awareness to the need for the spaying and neutering of animals. The Spencer Pride Pet Parade will take place at 3:30 PM on the south side of the Owen County Courthouse. THIS IS A NEW TIME THIS YEAR, IN ORDER TO BE COOLER FOR THE PETS!
Live, local entertainment will be on the Ivy Tech Stage & in the Gathering place of the Spencer Pride commUnity center throughout the day. Keep checking our website for updates on our planned entertainment. Our emcee is Sheryl Daniels, who has served in the role for many years now and is a crowd favorite.
