Dan Savage: Sex and Society

Play

Dan Savage is an openly gay author and journalist who became popular through “Savage Love,” his sex advice column in Seattle’s alternative weekly newspaper The Stranger. He is author of four novels and has been featured on CNN and MSNBC for his controversial and often humorous views on politics and religion regarding gay marriage, love and sexuality in America. His public appearance in Bloomington on Thursday was riddled with words you can’t say on the radio, but while he entertains he also educates, and so we stuck with him through ninety minutes of Q and A to bring you Savage’s opinions on the new federal hate crimes law, homosexual identity, repression, the laws of attraction, and more in this WFHB radio exclusive. A warning to listeners: although the following highlight reel does not violate any FCC rules, it still deals with sensitive subject matter, and so audience discretion is advised.
