Monroe County Commissioners Make Herstory

Record numbers of women were elected to office in 2018. In Monroe County, Lee Jones, Julie Thomas, and Amanda Barge comprise the first all-women county government in Indiana. The Monroe County Board of Commissioners met for the first time in 2019, this morning. Thomas, who serves on WFHB’s Board of Directors, said the Commission will host a celebration next week.

Indiana Outspends Nation on Political Ads

Indiana spent more on political advertising this primary election than any other state in the nation. According to an analysis by the Wesleyan Media Project, Indiana candidates have spent $8.8 million on ads this primary season. That’s $2 million more than the second place spender, Ohio. Legislators to Take Ethics, Sexual Harassment Trainings

Indiana Governor Eric Holcomb signed a bill this afternoon, putting in place sexual harassment policies for state legislators.
